The singer turned down 500 000 pounds, money offered to appear in the pages of the famous men magazine. Nelly was first approached by Playboy when she started to be famous, in 2000, after her first album 'Whoa, Nelly!'. She said that the magazine was ready to give this money even if she had posed with clothes on. But she did not want to have a Playboy appearance at the age of 22 in her portfolio.

Still, Nelly hasn't been categorically against the idea. She stated that, if she were given this offer at 40, she would probably accept. The Canadian artist, who also has Portuguese citizenship, is a Grammy winner, due to the song 'I'm like a Bird'. After becoming a mother, she launched less successful albums, but returned to spotlight with the album 'Loose', which generated hits like 'Promiscuous' , 'Say it right' or 'Maneater'. Furtado is known for experimenting different instruments, sounds, genres, languages and vocal styles, having an unmistakable voice.
