Nelly Furtado Song “I’m Like A Bird”
The Nelly Furtado song "I'm Like a Bird" is about how much she values freedom, and how that keeps her away fro m commitment. In the song, she is warning a guy that she could fly away at any time. In an interview with MTV, Furtado spoke about the meaning behind the song.
She said that on first look it appears to be a love song, but then someone told her that she should have featured homeless people in her video. And she thinks that made sense, because the idea of the song is about being a nomad and liking to wander a lot. She says this reflects the restlessness she often feels. In an interview with The Metro newspaper in 2006, Nelly was asked what her favorite bird is. Her replay was a crow, because they like shiny things and she is the same way at the mall. She said she is attracted to things that glitter and shine.
