Nelly Furtado and Timbaland Get Sued but Charge gets Tossed!

Nelly Furtado and Timbaland are all over the papers now as they got sued by a Finnish Label and get a $20 million charge against them. In 2009, Finnish label Kernal Records Oy sued them, charging them with copying certain parts of their song for the hit song, "Do It". And now Miami Judge, Edwin Torres upped the charges against Nelly Furtado and Timbaland from $10 million to $20 million and tossed and removed charges.
Kernal Records claims that their song called "Acid Jazzed Evening," was published on Australian disk magazine Vandalism News and published on the internet in the year 2002 and that Nelly Furtado and Timbaland stole the elements. According to Nelly Furtado and Timbaland's spokesperson Kernal was trying to get away from the main aspects of the Copyright Act. The U.S. laws state that the songs published on the net are to be protected by copyright laws. But Kernal did not get his song registered which he was required to do. Looks like Nelly Furtado got out of this one.
